Oksana Mocherniuk – Doctor of Philosophy, Lecturer at the Department of Methods of Music Education and Conducting at the Vasyl Stefanyk Educational and Research Institute of Arts of the Precarpathian National University.
In 2014, she graduated from the Denys Sichynskyi Ivano-Frankivsk Professional Music College, where she qualified as an orchestra and ensemble artist, teacher of primary specialised art schools, and bandura chapel leader.
She continued her studies at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, where in 2016 she received a bachelor’s degree with honours in music, qualifying her as a music teacher and bandura player. She combined her studies at the university with her professional career as an artistic director of the House of Culture. She skilfully used the skills she acquired during her studies in her work, creating groups of different categories: children, youth and adults. The groups have repeatedly participated in all artistic events in the district and region, where they have won prizes. In 2016, the Christmas Nativity scene under the direction of Oksana Mocherniuk was able to congratulate our defenders on Christmas at several training grounds in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions and took part in the annual celebration of the Epiphany in Kosiv region. Under the direction of Oksana Mocherniuk, the church choir of St Nicholas Church annually participated in religious pilgrimages and festivals, such as the Spiritual Well in the village of Yezupil, the International Rosary Pilgrimage in the village of Pohonia.
From 2016 to 2018, she worked at the Stepan Hranat Financial and Commercial Cooperative College in Ivano-Frankivsk as a cultural organiser, where she created a quartet of students who participated in song competitions and festivals in the city and always won prizes.
In 2018, she graduated from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, where she received a master’s degree with honours: master’s degree in musical art, educational programme musical art, professional qualification conductor (regent), teacher of musical art, music teacher of a preschool, teacher of specialised disciplines and voice training.
She also had the opportunity to demonstrate her professional skills in gymnasiums: Kolodiivka and Uzyn, where she worked as a music teacher and class teacher. Working with children, she always tried to instil in them a love of Ukrainian song, poetry and culture.
She has been working at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University since 2022, where she holds the position of Lecturer at the Department of Music Education and Conducting Methods. She combines her teaching activities with the development of church choral art, where she is the director and regent of choirs: the church choir Chervona Kalyna of the Church of the Holy Trinity and the amateur choir Dniester Dawns.
In 2023, she defended her PhD thesis: Ideological Patterns in Ukrainian Choral Creativity of the Interwar Period: Conceptual Manifestations of the Aesthetics of Public Culture – Cultural Studies, at the Specialised Academic Council of the V. Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
She teaches the following subjects within the educational programme 014 Secondary Education (Musical Art): “Choral Conducting”, “Specialised Instrument”, “Concertmaster Class”.
Author of 8 scientific and educational publications, including 1 publication in a periodical included in the Scopus and Web of Science, in which she covers the problems of modern Ukrainian musical art and music pedagogy.
