MYROSLAV PETRYK – Honoured Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Department of Methods of Music Education and Conducting, singer (tenor), composer, musician and public figure, member of the All-Ukrainian Music Union, winner of All-Ukrainian and International song competitions and festivals, participant in the creative reports of Ivano-Frankivsk region at the National Palace ‘Ukraine’ (Kyiv) and creative projects ‘Parade of Tenors’. Kyiv) and the creative projects ‘Parade of Tenors’, author of scientific articles, methodological recommendations, the educational and methodological manual ‘Song Garden’, which includes author’s works, arrangements of folk songs for solo, vocal ensembles and choirs.
He was a soloist with the vocal group Opryshky, the folk-synthesis group Halychyna, the chamber choir Halytski Peredzvony, the Rhapsody folk instruments orchestra, and the municipal pop-symphony orchestra. Currently, he is the musical director of the KOLO folk men’s vocal quartet and a soloist of the municipal bandura band.
A bright page in M. Petryk’s creative life was his ten-year work as a soloist-vocalist at the Ivan Franko Regional Academic Theatre in Ivano-Frankivsk (1999-2009). During his work at the theatre, he created a number of interesting stage images in performances and theatrical concerts.
His significant achievements were: the role of Andrii in S. Hulak-Artemovskyi’s opera ‘Cossack Beyond the Danube’ (1999), the role of Fredi in Francis Lowe’s musical operetta ‘My Fair Lady’ (2002), the role of Floristan in Jacques Offenbach’s comic opera ‘The Key on the Pavement’ (2005) and the role of Andrii in M. Arkas’s opera ‘Catherine’ (2006).
He has completed research internships in Lodz and Krakow (Poland, 2017, 2022), and is a permanent member of the jury of regional, national and international song competitions and festivals. His students are winners of national and international art competitions and festivals.
His social activities span more than 30 years of organisational, educational and cultural work. For his significant personal contribution to the creation of spiritual values and high professional skills, he was awarded the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, many awards, diplomas and letters of thanks from regional and city administrations.
