Dychko)’ in the speciality 17.00.03 ‘Musical Art’ at the Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of the formation of a new genre – a cappella choral opera in the context of stylistic and genre searches of the last third of the twentieth century in Ukrainian music. The paper highlights the specifics of the development of folklore sources (in particular, archetypal ones) by Ukrainian composers in terms of their influence on typical genre and stylistic models. On this basis, the author specifies the idea of stylistic trends in the works of Ukrainian composers; highlights the original modification of the genre paradigm of opera in the process of evolution of its new variety. A new methodological approach to the analysis of the dramaturgy of musical works has been applied, which has contributed to the identification of specific patterns in its samples. Clarification of the foundations of L. Dychko’s style and the multilevel connections of her work with Ukrainian folklore in the context of contemporary composer’s searches contributed to the fruitful use of the developed methodology in the study of the choral a cappella opera ‘Zolotoslov’. In addition, the dissertation highlights specific manifestations of musical thinking that are characteristic of the last decades of the last century, which significantly complements the idea of active factors of contemporary musical creativity.
